In Christ, we are raised to life.

Celebrate the best decision ever.

If you have accepted Christ as your Savior, your next step is to follow Christ’s example and “go public” with your faith through baptism. As your church family, we would love to celebrate this special moment with you!

Who should be baptized?

The Bible teaches that every believer in Christ should be baptized. A believer is someone who has realized that their sin separated them from God. They have given up all efforts to reach God through good works or religious activity. They have concluded that Jesus Christ’s death on the cross for their sins is the only thing that can bridge the gap between them and God. A believer is someone who has decided to trust Christ alone for their salvation.
(Acts 2:41; 8:12-13)

When can I get baptized?

We offer Baptism Celebration Services, which take place on Sundays, four times per year.

How is it done?

While modifications are sometimes made to accommodate people with physical limitations, we baptize by immersion because that is the model we see displayed in the Bible. Immersion means the believer is placed under the water representing their old life of sin is gone and they are lifted up out of the water to display that the same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead has given them new life too. (Matthew 3:16, Acts 8:38-39, Romans 6:1-11)

Is there an age requirement?

Yes. Our age requirement for baptism is 10 years old. Children 10 and up who want to be baptized will be contacted by our Family Ministry staff. This will give us the opportunity to ensure their understanding of salvation and baptism. For children under the age of 10, we want to give them adequate time to grow in their understanding of the faith so they can fully appreciate the importance of their decision to be baptized. We want to partner with you and your child on their journey. We have created a book to help your child understand what it means to follow Christ. You can download the book below or ask a Creek Kids team member on Sunday to receive one of these books. While we don’t baptize young children, we do have Child Dedication that happens three times per year to pray a special blessing over young children and their parents.

How can I help my child prepare for baptism?

Emphasize the importance of regular participation in children’s and student ministry. Make prayer and Bible reading part of your family routine. Also, model your own faith to them by regularly attending church services, reading your Bible, praying and showing a genuine love for others.
